Celebrating Independence Day on the Texas coast hits different—especially when Powderhorn Lake is right in front of you. If you’re looking for an easy, family-friendly way to spend the holiday weekend, Powderhorn RV Park is a great home base for fishing, boating, birdwatching, and relaxing by the water.
Join the 4th of July Golf Cart Parade (and any decorated ride)
Our 4th of July Golf Cart Parade is open to anyone staying with us (and it’s not just golf carts). Bring your most patriotic spirit and decorate any vehicle you’d like—golf carts, Side X Sides, Jeeps, monster trucks, and even large farm tractors are welcome.
Here are the details:
Date: July 4th
Registration fee: None (free to join)
Vehicle note: We do not supply golf carts
Lineup time: 10:00am
Parade start: 11:00am
Awards: 3 places for most patriotic decorating
Whether you go all-out with flags and streamers or keep it simple with red, white, and blue, it’s a fun way to meet neighbors and make memories.
Make it a full Powderhorn day: launch, fish, clean, grill
One of the best parts about staying at Powderhorn RV Park is how easy it is to turn a holiday into a full day outside. With docks and a boat ramp, you can get on the water quickly. After a morning of fishing, use the fish cleaning area, then head back to your site to grill and relax.
If you’re traveling with family, the park is also set up for comfort, full hookups (30 & 50 amp), shower rooms, a clubhouse/rec center, and a BBQ area make it simple to enjoy the weekend without over-planning.
Plan your 4th of July stay at Powderhorn RV Park. Located in Calhoun County near Port Lavaca, with quick access to Magnolia Beach and Indianola, and Powderhorn Lake right in front of the park. If you want a holiday that feels laid-back, local, and right on the water, this is it.
